To view a map of where our overnight cruises may go click here 9.30am: We will Collect from your accommodation in Te Anau or from Pearl Harbour at Manapouri at 10.00am (Queenstown coach connections available). From Pearl Harbour you board the PATEA, a fast vessel which will take you across New Zealands most beautiful lake, Lake Manapouri. Once at West Arm drive by coach over the Wilmot Pass, here we may stop to capture views of Doubtful Sound streching to the West. Continue down into Deep Cove and visit the tail race outlet of the Manapouri power station. At approx. 11.00am we arrive in Deep Cove and board the MV Waverley. Typical overnight anchorages in Doubtful Sound include Crooked Arm, First Arm, and Precipice cove in Bradshaw Sound or on the eastern tip of Secretary Island. Cruises often include a visit to the entrance of Doubtful Sound where, weather dependant, you may visit the Shelter Islands, home to a colony of Southern Fur Seals. After a light breakfast we have a leisurely cruise back towards Deep Cove, wave good bye to Doubtful Sound, then arrive in Te Anau at approx. 12.30pm. |
